19 August 1996 was the date my one and only annoying little brother, Amsyar was born. For someone who is an avid fan of steak, he requested to have his birthday lunch at Mandarin Grill, Mandarin Oriental KL. By hearing the name Grill, you could guess that their specialty would be servin’ the finest meat in town.
After minutes of browsing through the menu, I’ve made my decision to choose Baby Romaine Caesar Salad which I added chicken breast to compliment the delicious salad for appertizers. There was also a Creamy Seafood Chowder and Wild Mushroom Creamy Soup before we kick start with the main course. While waiting for all the food to arrived, a complimentary bread with butter was served to our table and it was scrumptious!
Australian Grass Fed Sirloin with Gratinated French Fries ‘Alsace’ was what I had for my main dish. Very fattening, I know. Should have ordered veggie for my side dish. Hehe. But I didn’t regret chewing every slice of my medium well steak. FYI, mine was the one with the cutest, tiny meat pictured above. Small but well enough for me as I have tasted some of my family member’s food which was Grilled Atlantic Black Cod, Norwegian Salmon and Sher Wagyu. All so yummy, very yummy :p
When we had done finishing up our desserts, Baked Alaska along with Peanut Butter and Salted Caramel Homemade Ice Cream, a waiter came with a candle on top of a cake and this is my first time seeing a special birthday card written by all the staffs for the birthday boy. So sweet, right? Then we sang a birthday song altogether before we proceed for photo session, a usual birthday celebration. But I had a great time with great company, great food, great service and great ambience!
